Tom Platz UK Seminar Sept 1993 (Plus Posing of Tom Platz, Dorian Yates, Flex Wheeler) A bodybuilding star has to be truly outstanding for us to offer 3 separate seminars of him over a ten year period. Such a star is the Golden Eagle - Tom Platz. Our first seminar was taped with Tom in New Zealand around 1987 (PCB - 29/30DVD). The second time was our group of three lifestyle seminar series tapes made by Vaughan Jones in England in 1990. These were not true seminar tapes as GMV presents them, but segments from seminars throughout the UK as the camera followed Tom over the duration of his England tour PCB-283DVD. This latest tape is a traditional hard hitting seminar. For 96 minutes Tom gave the most charismatic, entertaining and enlightening seminar we have ever heard. He answered all the hard questions, such as "did Arnold really deserve his victory at the 1980 Mr. Olympia", why Momo Benaziza really died, as well as questions on steroids, training and nutrition. He also traced his own career from humble beginnings as a teenager. Not to be missed - Tom’s comments on top stars such as Vic Richards, Flex Wheeler, Dorian Yates - all of whom are shown posing. The final highlight in this inspirational and brutally honest tape is the posing by Tom of his still fantastic legs. Arnold Schwarzenegger - The Early Years DVD ** Approximately 109 minutes of Arnold ** A part from the 73 minutes of early contest and outdoor posing footage of Arnold and Franco, the bonus material from this collector's DVD includes more recent out-takes, on-stage and behind the scenes video from the Arnold Classic. Firstly we see Arnold on stage in England aged 19 on the 28th of January 1967, doing curls and then guest posing. Next aged 20 while outdoors in a garden he pumps up with DB curls before posing. This includes closeups of his amazing arms and is the earliest Arnold colour footage we know of. In 1970 you see Arnold as he wins his final NABBA Universe in the Pro class. Also seen briefly are Draper, Zane, Columbu, Coe, Beckles and more. This is followed by brief highlights from the 1970 Mr Olympia. The Olympia footage is poorly lit but included in the DVD as it is so rare. See Joe present the trophy to Arnold at this event. A real highlight is Arnold guest posing aged 23 in USA along with Franco posing at the same event. 1972 poolside on the Gold Coast in sunny Australia, Arnold and Franco pump and pose both individually and duo in a superb in-depth segment including more great closeups of Arnold's huge arms. No other similar outdoor posing footage of Arnold was ever recorded in his career. 1972 was a very big year for Arnold as we see him defeat Sergio at the 72 Mr Olympia in Essen, Germany. This segment runs around 10 minutes and is the only known footage of the 1972 Mr Olympia event. Posing also by Serge Nubret, Franco Columbu and Arnold plus posedown and award for his 3rd Olympia crown. In 1974 it was back to Australia again for more guest posing, this time at the IFBB Mr Southern Hemisphere contest, with posing also by the winner, Roger Walker, later 6th 1980 Mr Olympia. Next we see Arnold posing at the 1975 Mr Olympia in South Africa, plus posing by Lou Ferrigno and Serge Nubret - the posedown and final award again to Arnold. In 1980 Arnold made his comeback in Australia at the Mr Olympia contest held at the Sydney Opera House. It was to be Olympia victory # 7. See his solo posing, many comparisons, compulsory poses and more as Arnold once again stands victorious. Includes scenes of many of his closest rivals from Mentzer to Zane etc. A tour de force with Arnold, since voted the most popular bodybuilder of all time. THE EXTRA SCENES are as follows: 1. 1993 at FIBO in Germany, Arnold meeting with fans. 2. Having fun at the 1993 FIBO Concert in Germany. 3. MIKE MENTZER - THE FINAL CHAPTER, with RAY MENTZER This 3rd and final DVD consists of all of our remaining segments of Mike and Ray Mentzer in one super DVD feature. It is a tribute to these 2 wonderful bodybuilders who sadly passed away in June 2001. The first half of the DVD is devoted to Mike with Part 2 showcasing Ray. Here is a brief description of the various segments. MIKE MENTZER TRAINING AT HOME The legendary Mike Mentzer at his awesome best - a full length home posing and pumping display with closeups on all body parts. This was filmed in Mike's apartment, in West L.A. in July 1978. It was the final solo posing session Wayne shot with Mike. He was in ripped pre-contest condition and performed muscle control that will blow your mind, including the incredibly difficult isolation 'rope' pose!! Every muscle fibre, every vein and every sinew was on display as the camera goes right in for some incredible closeups. Mike displayed each body part in slow, deliberate flexing, rippling poses. He gave his absolute all. Includes oiling, pumping and dumbell workout. A brutal filming session - according to a sweat soaked Mike! See what he had to say about this filming session in his comments written into his training book he signed and gave Wayne at the end of the shoot! For 21" arm lovers and those who appreciate the magic and charisma of MIKE MENTZER at his peak, this whole DVD is a must. The Mike Mentzer at home segment is the highlight of the DVD and runs for 28 minutes. I have selected 36 exquisite photos of the brothers which had never ever been scanned or seen before.
