Bob Paris the Flawless Marvel This is truly a Classic Film feature on the world's most aesthetic bodybuilder. It was shot in the early part of Bob's career, and is the only half hour pumping and posing feature he ever made. As such it is a rare collector's item. In this DVD, Bob first appears in a tank top and slacks, looking every bit the superstar model. He oils his muscular arms and then launches into a deliberate pumping display with steel cables and dumbbells. The DVD continues with posing in tank top followed by oiling, flexing and finally, posing in closeup, as Bob relates to the camera in an intimate one-on-one style. There is a lingering examination of Bob's muscular body in closeup, as he presents each muscle group in a fluid, graceful, near erotic style. Few men have Bob Paris' stunning good looks and beautifully symmetrical physique. In his heyday he was hailed as another Steve Reeves. At 6' tall and 210lbs of solid muscle, Bob Paris aroused frenzied acclaim wherever he appeared in contests and posing exhibitions. The technical quality of this original film was not as sharp as more recent video presentations as it belongs to the technology of the time. However it is a rare collector's item. Bob won the 1983 IFBB World Championships (Mr. Universe), and subsequently competed in the Mr. Olympia a number of times. His career spanned a controversial 15 years. Beckles treats the audience to 5 minutes of posing – and at the age of 55 years he was in superb condition. The seminar was taped just a few days after he competed in the 1985 Mr. Olympia, where he achieved his all time high of second place to Lee Haney. The scene then moves forward four years to the 1989 FIBO Bodybuilding Expo held in Cologne, Germany, where Al is interviewed together with fellow professionals, PHIL HILL and then RON LOVE. They talk about Al’s career, and some of its highlights. Phil points out that Beckles has been competing for an incredible 30 years in the sport of bodybuilding and that’s one of the reasons he is a legend in his own right. Finally SAMIR BANNOUT poses for the excited FIBO audience, and Al joins him for an informal extended posing sequence. As both men were competing on the European Grand Prix circuit at the time, they were both ripped and in awesome shape. Samir was the 1983 Mr. Olympia winner. Firstly we see Arnold on stage in England aged 19 on the 28th of January 1967, doing curls and then guest posing. Next aged 20 while outdoors in a garden he pumps up with DB curls before posing. This includes closeups of his amazing arms and is the earliest Arnold colour footage we know of. In 1970 you see Arnold as he wins his final NABBA Universe in the Pro class. Also seen briefly are Draper, Zane, Columbu, Coe, Beckles and more. This is followed by brief highlights from the 1970 Mr Olympia. The Olympia footage is poorly lit but included in the DVD as it is so rare. See Joe present the trophy to Arnold at this event.
